Amazfit is a Chinese smart wearable brand^[2] established in September 2015^[3] and headquartered in Hefei. Its products are manufactured^[4] and owned by Zepp Health.^[5] The brand offers wearable devices including smartwatches,^[6] fitness bands,^[7] and equipment related to health and sports.^[8]

In January 2020, it attended the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 in Las Vegas.^[9] At the middle of October 2021, Amazfit updated its brand identity with the slogan "Up Your Game".^[10]

In 2016, the first smartwatch of Amazfit was introduced.^[11] In April 2017, it launched the Amazfit Health Band.^[12]

A self-developed chipset called the "Huangshan-1" ^[13] was exhibited at Mobile World Congress and applied to Amazfit devices in 2019.^[14]

In July 2019, the lens of the photoelectric module of an Amazfit smartwatch dislodged, causing a user's skin to be burned.^[15]

After the launch of Amazfit GTR series smartwatches, some problems were revealed, such as the screen was easy to be scratched and the positioning was severely shifted, which affected the usage.^[16]

In April 2020, its parent company partnered with a laboratory led by Zhong Nanshan^[17] to use wearable devices to track respiratory diseases.^[18]

Well, you would be pleased to know that Amazon has got nothing to do with the Amazfit. Just because you are seeing awesome discount offers on Amazfit products on your Amazon store doesnt mean Amazon is behind them. No. Instead Amazfit is owned by the Zepp Health and Zepp Health is relatively new to the wearable scenes.

According to their website Zepp was formed in 2013 as a Huami Crop (sounds familiar?) with the aim to evolve the wearable technology. They actively work on bringing revolutionary changes in different aspects of smartwatch making, be it biometric scanning or algorithm behind stuff like blood pressure tracking. Zepp firmly believes in manufacturing their chipset and hardware by themselves and in doing so push the boundary of the wearables.

But I Saw That Amazfit Watches Are Made By Huami?

If you saw this name somewhere Huami and you read that it is them who makes Amazfit watches then you are not wrong. It is true. It is Huami who manufactures Amazfit smartwatches and tracker but does so as a banner of Zepp Health. Remember when we told you Zepp was formed as Huami Corp in 2013? Well, in February of 2021 they changed the name to Zepp so to an extent you can say it is the same thing.

Can You Trust Amazfit Products?

Yes, you most certainly can trust Amazfit products. They are reasonably priced and you will get good value in return for your money. It is not like Luxium or Spade and Co. Amazfit is actually a respectful and accountable manufacturer of wearable tech so you got nothing to worry about it.

As for features well we recently did comparison between Amazfit Band 5 and Fitbit Charge 5 and results are pretty self-explanatory. Despite its low price tag Amazfit Band 5 was able to provide quality equally if not more than Fitbits flagship health band.

Amazfit Is Good Choice For Beginners!

While there are many great things that can be said about the way Amazfit has positioned themselves in the market, one very commendable aspect of their business model is the variety. Much like the past Fossils (strictly talking about watches not smartwatches) Amazfit has got something for everyone.

It is not like Apple Watches which are way too expansive for 50% of people and are certainly crafted for a certain set of audience and it is also not like WHOOP and Bellabeat who exclusively focus on different sectors of demographic. Amazfit is like Walmart. They got everything for everyone. You dont need to be particularly women, athlete, or a rich brat to get an Amazfit product.

The new Amazfit Bip 5 (released in 2023) is ideal smartwatch for anyone who is willing to invest in their first smartwatch. It is priced neatly and it has bunch of features that you will certainly enjoy. Not to mention workout modes and health tracking is not that far off from likes of Fitbit and Apples best work.

Should you buy an Amazfit watch? The short answer is, yes, many of Amazfits smartwatches and fitness trackers are capable alternatives to better-known wearable brands. But not all Amazfit watches are built the same, plus the models range in price, so youll want to do some research before buying.

The saturated fitness- and health-tracking hardware market is dominated by the best Fitbit devices and best Garmin watches, as well as Apple and Samsungs flagship smartwatches. Zepp, Amazfits companion app and wellness platform, manages to keep up.

Weve had mixed experiences with mirrored notifications. In general, you can decide which phone notifications you want pushed to your wrist, plus whether you want to preview their contents. The Amazfit Bip Lite is the best Amazfit watch for battery life overall, offering up to 45 days of continuous use. The Amazfit T-Rex Pro lasts up to 18 days, or 45 hours with active GPS use. The Amazfit Band 5 gets 15 days, while the Amazfit GTS/GTR 3 series gets 14 days.

Only certain Garmin watches designed for multi-day GPS can last as long an Amazfit watch. Fitbit devices max out at one week, while Apple and Samsung last no more than two days.

Should you buy an Amazfit watch?

If you prioritize battery life and your budget, Amazfit watches are worthwhile purchases. Amazfit keeps up with the top wearable brands better than almost all other inexpensive smartwatches and fitness bands, specifically in health features.
